Experienced Spray Foam Production Crew Leader

Southeast Michigan Production Crew Leadership

Experience: Direct spray foam experience required

Schedule: Variable construction schedule; occasional weekend and overnight travel may be required

About The Role

Colony Insulation is looking for an experienced spray foam professional who is ready for more than another installer job. This is a serious production role for someone who wants responsibility, wants to lead a crew, and wants room to grow inside a growing insulation and building-performance company.

This position requires real spray foam experience. We need someone who already understands the equipment, the material, the jobsite conditions, and what it takes to produce good work safely and consistently.

What You Need To Be Comfortable With

  • Running a spray foam rig and understanding the equipment
  • Spraying closed-cell foam consistently and professionally
  • Recognizing good foam versus bad foam
  • Understanding temperatures, pressures, substrate conditions, and jobsite conditions
  • Troubleshooting equipment and production problems
  • Planning the work before the crew starts
  • Keeping production moving throughout the day
  • Leading and directing other crew members
  • Training less-experienced employees
  • Inspecting the work instead of assuming it was done correctly
  • Keeping the jobsite clean and organized
  • Protecting the customer’s home or building
  • Communicating problems before they become bigger problems
  • Documenting the job properly
  • Taking care of the truck, trailer, rig, equipment, tools, and materials
  • Making sure the crew leaves the job complete rather than leaving problems for someone else to fix

The Leadership Side Matters

We are not only looking for the best sprayer we can find. We are looking for someone who can become a strong production leader.

That means taking responsibility for the entire job. If something is wrong, you address it. If the job is not ready, you do not push through and create a bigger problem. If the work is not good enough, you fix it before calling the job complete.

We need someone who thinks beyond the spray gun and understands that production leadership includes people, planning, quality, equipment, communication, customers, and the finished result.

What This Opportunity Can Become

Colony is growing and actively working toward building multiple strong production crews. For the right person, this position can develop into substantially more responsibility within production, training, field leadership, and eventually operations.

The opportunity comes with performance. Show that you can lead people. Show that you can produce. Show that you can protect quality. Show that you can solve problems. Show that people can depend on you.

If you can do that, Colony wants to give you room to grow.

Who Will Fit Here

The right person is experienced without being closed-minded, confident without being careless, and willing to keep learning even after years in the trade. We want someone who can bring useful experience to Colony while still being willing to learn the Colony way.

Quality, reliability, professionalism, leadership, safety, communication, and responsibility all matter in this role.

Schedule And Travel

This is construction. Workload, project size, weather, travel, customer needs, and jobsite conditions can affect the schedule. Some jobs run later than originally expected, and occasional weekend or overnight work may be required when projects call for it.

When the job is active, the expectation is to finish responsibly, protect the quality, support the crew, take care of the customer, and leave the project in a condition everyone can be proud of.
